Hospital rankings change when Medicare Advantage patients included
When researchers included both Medicare fee-for-service and Medicare Advantage beneficiaries in calculations of CMS performance measures, between 21.6% and 30.2% of hospitals in the top-performing group for readmissions and mortality fell to a lower-performing group.

Hospital performance on one stroke quality measure may predict performance on others
Hospitals that performed well on one of four indicators—carotid imaging, antithrombolytic therapy, treatment in a stroke unit, or discharge to inpatient rehabilitation—tended to also perform well on the other three, and the reverse was also true, with poor performance on one predicting poor performance on the others.

Hospitals often overestimate performance of timely tPA delivery for stroke, study finds
Hospitals that delivered less tPA and did it more slowly were more likely to overestimate their performance on the 1-hour door-to-needle measure, according to a Get With the Guidelines study.
