Pulmonary embolism detected in about 6% of patients with COPD hospitalized with acute respiratory symptoms
In a study of 740 patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) hospitalized with acutely worsening respiratory symptoms at seven French hospitals, 5.9% had pulmonary embolism detected within 48 hours of admission using the revised Geneva score.

COPD exacerbations associated with risk of subsequent CVD events, study finds
Patients with chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD) who averaged an exacerbation at least once a year had higher risk of cardiovascular disease (CVD) events than those with less frequent exacerbations, regardless of whether they had CVD at baseline.

Pulmonary rehabilitation associated with fewer readmissions for COPD patients
